Why We Started.
IAA Permit Translation was founded in 2025 to solve a small, expensive problem: travellers being told to fly home for a single piece of paperwork. For a family of four, that round trip can cost $10,000–$20,000 and several days of lost time. For expats, remote workers, and people with visa or medical constraints, the trip isn't just expensive — it's impossible. We moved that paperwork off a plane and onto the internet: a translation delivered remotely, so your plans don't hinge on an errand back home.
What We Do
We produce a certified translation of your existing, valid domestic driver's license, available in 12 languages and formatted in accordance with the 1949 Geneva and 1968 Vienna Conventions on Road Traffic. The IAA Driver's License Translation must always be presented alongside your original licence — it never replaces it. We are a translation service. We are not a permit issuer, a driving-rights authority, or a government body.
Impact
Removing the most expensive friction of an international trip — the requirement to interrupt travel for a domestic errand — means a family can keep its plans, a remote worker can keep a contract, and an expat can visit relatives on the right side of a rental-car counter. That is the single outcome we measure ourselves by.
