This Shipping and Delivery Policy applies to orders placed with IAA Permit Translation ("IAPT"), operated by International Automobile Authority LLC. It describes digital delivery, physical production and shipping, address restrictions, tracking, customs, and the restricted destinations that apply to our service.
1. Digital delivery
- The digital IAA Driver's License Translation (IAA-DLT) is delivered as a PDF by email (attachment and download link).
- Standard digital delivery: 1–12 hours after the manual review is complete.
- VIP processing add-on ($29): approximately 5 minutes after the manual review is complete.
- You may re-download the digital IAA-DLT at any time during its validity.
2. Physical production and shipping
- Physical orders are produced in 1–2 business days after the manual review is complete.
- Shipping methods:
- Standard Shipping ($9): local postal services, 15–30 working days, with tracking.
- Express Shipping ($29): FedEx, 3–7 days, with tracking.
- DHL or UPS may be used for certain routes where FedEx or local postal coverage is insufficient.
- "Completed" means shipped, not delivered. Delivery ETAs are carrier-dependent estimates and are not guarantees.
Production schedule
- Digital IAA-DLT. Delivered by email in 1–12 hours (Standard) or approximately 5 minutes (VIP). Digital support operates 24/7; there is no cutoff time for digital orders.
- Physical IAA-DLT. Production runs in three regional facilities and operates Monday through Friday:
- United States — US Eastern Time (ET), 9 AM – 2 PM ET
- China — China Standard Time (CST, UTC+8), 9 AM – 2 PM CST
- United Kingdom — UK local time (GMT/BST), 9 AM – 2 PM local
- Orders received outside a region's business hours enter production on the next operational region's next business day.
- If one region is closed for a consecutive holiday of two or more days, orders route to the remaining operational regions so customer-visible delivery windows are not extended.
Verification hold and order archival
Our team performs a manual review of every order before production begins. If we identify an issue requiring your input — including but not limited to a missing selfie, an illegible or mismatched driver’s license photo, a discrepancy between your submitted documents and the order details, or documents that raise fraud concerns — we will contact you by email, WhatsApp message, and phone call.
During a verification hold:
- the digital PDF is suspended and not delivered; and
- no physical order is dispatched.
We will make reasonable contact attempts over 14 calendar days from the date of our first contact.
- If you respond and provide the required documentation within 14 days, production resumes promptly.
- If you do not respond or do not provide the required documentation within 14 calendar days, the order is archived and the contract is treated as terminated due to your failure to cooperate with our verification process — a customer obligation under our Terms of Service.
- No refund is issued for archived orders, even if you later request cancellation. The failure to deliver was caused entirely by your non-response. The same applies if your documents were found to be fraudulent, invalid, or deliberately altered; in that case the order is permanently closed with no refund and may be reported to relevant authorities.
- If you make contact after the 14-day archival window but within 30 days of the original order date, we may, at our sole discretion, reopen verification without requiring a new payment.
3. Address restrictions
- We do not ship to PO Boxes.
- We do not ship to military (APO / FPO) addresses.
- Hotels, Airbnbs, and business addresses are allowed.
- Brazil shipments require a valid CPF (Cadastro de Pessoas Físicas tax number) to clear customs.
- Japan, China, South Korea. Some rental companies in these countries have been known to reject privately-issued translation documents. We display a specific disclaimer at checkout for orders shipped to these destinations. You may still complete the purchase if you plan to use the IAA-DLT in other countries.
4. Tracking
- A tracking number is provided for both Standard and Express shipping once the parcel is dispatched.
- You can track your shipment at the carrier's website.
5. Address changes
- Address changes are possible only before the parcel has been dispatched. Contact hello@iaapermittranslation.com with your order number and the corrected address.
- After dispatch, address changes may only be possible via the carrier, subject to carrier rules and additional charges borne by you.
6. Lost, damaged, or undelivered parcels
Our Replacement Guarantee covers lost or undelivered digital IAA-DLTs, lost or damaged physical booklets or cards, and failed delivery confirmed by carrier tracking. See the Refund and Cancellation Policy for full terms.
Failed delivery due to incorrect address or recipient non-response
The Replacement Guarantee and free reshipment do not apply where a delivery failure was caused by:
- an incorrect or incomplete shipping address submitted by you at checkout; or
- your failure, or the failure of an authorised recipient, to respond to the carrier’s delivery attempts or collection notices.
In these cases:
- A new shipping fee is required for any reshipment.
- If the carrier returns the parcel to us, we will hold it for 30 days. If you do not arrange reshipment and pay the new shipping fee within that period, the physical items are disposed of and no refund of the original order or shipping fee is provided.
- Before dispatch, you are responsible for ensuring your address is correct and accessible. Address changes are possible only before dispatch — see § 5.
7. Customs, import duties, and taxes
- Customs fees or import duties may apply depending on the destination country and are the responsibility of the customer. The customer is responsible for import duties, VAT, or local taxes that may be charged on arrival in the destination country.
- We have no control over customs inspections, delays, seizures, or local processing times. Where the parcel is seized or destroyed by customs authorities beyond our reasonable control, we will work with you in good faith but cannot guarantee recovery of fees or the parcel.
- We cannot influence carrier routing decisions, including re-routing for weather, customs, or trade-rule changes.
8. Shipping-delay cancellation right (FTC Mail Order Rule)
Under the FTC Mail, Internet, or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule (16 CFR Part 435), if we cannot ship your physical IAA-DLT within the time advertised and you do not agree to a new shipping date, you have the right to cancel for a full refund. The parallel right for EU consumers is set out in Article 18 of the EU Consumer Rights Directive.
9. Restricted destinations
This section takes precedence over any general "worldwide shipping" language that may appear in our marketing copy. Restrictions are imposed to comply with US sanctions administered by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC; 31 CFR Parts 510, 515, 542, 560 and related orders), Executive Orders 13685 and 14065, and carrier service limitations published by FedEx, DHL, UPS, and USPS.
9.1 Full block — neither digital nor physical orders accepted
- Cuba
- Iran
- North Korea
- Syria
- Crimea (Ukraine region)
- Donetsk People's Republic region (Ukraine)
- Luhansk People's Republic region (Ukraine)
Orders destined for or payment originating from these jurisdictions are declined at the payment layer.
9.2 Physical-only block — digital orders only, subject to sanctions screening
The jurisdictions below are blocked for physical shipment due to published common-carrier restrictions. Digital orders may proceed subject to per-order sanctions screening at the payment layer.
- Afghanistan
- Central African Republic
- Equatorial Guinea
- Somalia
- Sudan
- Yemen
- Libya
- Brunei
9.3 Per-order sanctions screening
The following jurisdictions are subject to per-order sanctions screening via Stripe Radar and OFAC screening at the payment layer. Orders may be approved or declined on a case-by-case basis depending on the specific region, identity verification, and applicable sanctions targeting.
- Russia (regions other than Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk)
- Belarus
- Venezuela
- Myanmar / Burma
9.4 Authority
Sanctions-driven blocks are imposed under the OFAC sanctions programs cited above. Carrier blocks are imposed by FedEx, DHL, UPS, and USPS service restrictions. We do not waive these restrictions on customer request.
10. Re-delivery and return to sender
If a parcel is returned to us as undelivered because you were not at the address, the address was incorrect, or the parcel was refused, we will contact you to arrange re-delivery. Re-delivery fees charged by the carrier are borne by you. If we cannot reach you within a reasonable time, the order will be treated under the Replacement Guarantee with the Replacement Guarantee's documentary requirements.
11. Force majeure
We are not liable for shipping failure or delay caused by events beyond reasonable control, including war, natural disaster, pandemic-related disruptions, customs seizure, carrier failure, or government action.
12. If your order hasn't arrived
- Day 0 (order placed): you receive an order confirmation email. If you don't see it, check your spam folder.
- Past the digital-delivery window (1–12 hours Standard, 5 minutes VIP): contact hello@iaapermittranslation.com with your order number.
- Past the physical-shipping window (15–30 days Standard, 3–7 days Express): contact hello@iaapermittranslation.com. We will open a carrier trace and, if the package cannot be recovered, invoke the Replacement Guarantee at no cost to you.
